Insurance & Reimbursement
EmpoweringU Counseling is an Out-of-Network (OON) provider. This means we collect our standard session fees at the time of service. This model allows us to focus entirely on your clinical care without insurance restrictions dictating the frequency, format, or duration of our therapeutic work.
Many health insurance plans offer Out-of-Network benefits that will reimburse a significant percentage of your costs (typically 50% to 80%) after you meet your deductible.
What is a Superbill?
Upon request, we provide a monthly document called a Superbill. This is a detailed clinical receipt containing necessary coding (diagnosis and CPT codes) that you submit directly to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Questions to ask your insurance representative:
- Do I have out-of-network behavioral health (mental health) benefits?
- What is my out-of-network deductible, and has it been met?
- At what rate are individual virtual therapy sessions (CPT code 90837) reimbursed?
- How do I submit a Superbill for reimbursement?
